Steve Poizner, California’s Insurance Commissioner, has announced that he will launch an effort to investigate insurance company investments for ties to Iran and immediately direct California-based insurance companies to reveal any direct holdings in the Iranian government.
The California insurance code prohibits any investment respecting a foreign jurisdiction, or any investment denominated in the currency of that foreign jurisdiction, if that area is designated as a state sponsor...
