The next few weeks are critical for the property/casualty (P/C) industry regarding regulation, Bob Hartwig, president of the Insurance Information Institute, told the PCI Reporter.

“This meeting is being held during one of the most critical weeks in the history of financial services regulation,” says Hartwig. “There are discussions in Congress that are dealing with everything related to systemic risk regulators and executive compensation and – for insurance specifically – there are discussions about a Federal Office of Insurance. All of these things seem to be coming closer to reality.”
