Swiss Re returns to profit in third quarter

Swiss Re, the world’s second-largest reinsurer, Tuesday exceeded analyst expectation by posting profit of SFr334m ($326m) for the third-quarter of the year.

Swiss Re, the world’s second-largest reinsurer, Tuesday exceeded analyst expectation by posting profit of SFr334m ($326m) for the third-quarter of the year.
The Zurich-based reinsurer also strengthened its capital position to more than SFr6bn, helping its chances of repaying a loan from Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway.
