Rims dismayed by removal of contingents ban

The Risk and Insurance Management Society today announced its dismay at a decision by the New York insurance department and attorney general to allow the big three brokers to resume taking contingent commissions.

The Risk and Insurance Management Society (Rims) today announced its dismay at a decision by the New York insurance department and attorney general to allow the big three brokers to resume taking contingent commissions.

Rims said the decision comes on the heels of disclosure requirements that do not afford consumers appropriate protections. The North American risk mangers trade group said the investigations, admissions, and fines that led to the 2005 agreements banning such commissions...
