Aegon reaches EU deal to repay state aid

Dutch insurer Aegon has reached a deal with the European Commission to repay the remaining Eu2bn ($2.6bn) it received in state aid from the Dutch government during the financial crisis.

Aegon plans to repay Eu0.5bn this month and repay the remaining Eu1.5bn by end of June 2011, market conditions permitting. In doing so, the total premium payable on the remaining Eu2bn will be reduced to 40% instead of the originally agreed 50%. ...
