Amlin has reported profit before tax of £108m ($168m) for the first half of 2010, down 39% from £177m in the first half of 2009.

Amlin has reported profit before tax of £108m ($168m) for the first half of 2010, down 39% from £177m in the first half of 2009.
Gross written premiums surged 65% to £1.49bn for the first half, up from £950m in the first half of last year. Premiums were boosted by the acquisition of Fortis Corporate Insurance, now renamed Amlin Corporate Insurance (ACI).
