The system over the open waters of the Atlantic has strengthened to become Hurricane Danielle – the second hurricane of the 2010 Atlantic season, reports the RMS Catastrophe Centre.

Less than 24 hours after developing into a tropical storm, the system over the open waters of the Atlantic (around 1,200 miles (1,930 km) east of the Lesser Antilles) has strengthened to become Hurricane Danielle – the second hurricane of the 2010 Atlantic season, reports the RMS Catastrophe Centre.
At 21:00 UTC Monday, 23 August the National Hurricane Centre (NHC) issued its first advisory on Hurricane Danielle.
