Pricing up 2% at 1/1 renewal – Scor

The renewals period concluded “successfully”, according to Scor, which boasted total premium growth of 13.9%, saying it plans to expand its North American P&C reinsurance business.
Pricing increased by 2.2% at January reinsurance renewal, by weighted average, according to figures published today by Scor.
Contacts linked to natural catastrophe risk have surged 29.9% in Asia Pacific, and by 13.2% in North America, noted the firm.
The French reinsurer is looking to raise its P&C exposure in North America, it added.
The reinsurer said it had taken the opportunity of the rate rise to increase its business with a “very satisfactory” 13.9% growth in its total premium, split into a 12% rise in P&C treaty business, with specialty treaties up 18%.
